  • Areas of focus included New Complexity, French Spectralism, liminality, Elliott Carter, and postmodern theory.

  • Work featured in the 2020 online PureGold Festival.

Experience

PIANO

Ongoing

  • Studied piano variously under Dr. Stamatia Statherou, Dr. Sam Bailey, and Professor John Hursey.

  • Self-funded ABRSM exams up to grade five (achieved distinction in 2016), but have lacked financial means to pursue further examinations.

  • As an undergraduate I was a pianist in various ensembles listed above.

  • I currently write, perform, and record my own piano compositions.

  • Performed as a restaurant pianist at a venue in Canterbury.

  • Ragtime holds particular appeal to me, as does the toccata idiom.

July 2021

  • Via a recommendation from Paul Clark of the Clod Ensemble, I was given the opportunity to attend rehearsals for Laura Bowler's Houses Slide, performed at the Southbank Centre in July 2021, and the Musicians of Tomorrow concert held at Cecil Sharp House in the same month.

  • I used the opportunity to make connections and obtain feedback on the works I had in progress at the time.
